Book Review- You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day

*insert hoards of heart-eye emoji's here* I want to start off by saying that I'm writing this review as I eat pancakes. You'll know if you've already read this charmingly witty book that Felicia mentions many meetings she's had that involved pancakes, and I couldn't resist ending this great read with a stack of those nummy things!

I first witnessed this wonderful creature on Supernatural (big surprise!) and knew it wouldn't be the only way I got to watch Felicia be who she is. My friend Morgan turned me to The Guild, and then to Felicia's Instagram. So when I found out that she was going to be releasing a book I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!

You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day
Published By: Touchstone
Pages: 272
Genre(s): Memoir

This book spoke to me on many levels. Though my hardcore Lord of the Rings Playstation game play days are currently on hold due to attempting to adult with a job, the desires are there clawing at my brain. Even if you haven't found yourself glued to a screen raiding, you may relate to her anxiety pressure that makes you feel like you have to do everything on your own and push out any relationships in the process. This book isn't a how-to when it comes to the gaming world. It showcases the beauty (and horrors) of socializing and making a name for yourself on modern platforms.

I couldn't be more pleased with this novel, and Felicia sure knows how to make a girl laugh... as well as do some self-reflection (though not on purpose), You're Never Weird on the Internet (almost) will find it's home on my bookshelf and will be returned to someday when I need a good bit of motivation. I'd recommend this to anyone that enjoyed Chris Hardwick's book, or anyone who would relate to a quirky geek girl who double majored in math and violin.
                                                            ...it's that good :)

Book Review- The Nerdist Way: How to Reach the Next Level (In Real Life)

Try to ignore Castiel creeping in the back...that sneaky little angel. I fished up this fantastic book today and decided to review it ASAP because many of you may like it as well.

The Nerdist Way: How to Reach the Next Level (In Real Life) by Chris Hardwick
Published By: Berkley
Pages: 304
Genre(s): Autobiography, Humor, Self-Help, Nerdgasm

A self-help book geared toward the nerd brain. Compartmentalizing, blowing things up bigger than reality, obsessing over things, long hours lost, and fun times are literally written all over these pages.

I went into this novel blind. I would have realized that it was in fact a self-help book for nerds if I would have looked a little closer, but this oblivion was a blessing in disguise. It turned out to be just what I needed having recently graduated from high school, reading this was a great passage into the weird buffer that ends with adulthood. So nerds around, pick up this book and share in the fun with me!

Time for a Book Review!

Today I am here to tell you about The Accident written by Chris Pavone. I received this novel through the Blogging For Books program for an honest review:

In short, this novel follows the character Isabel Reed who finds a manuscript full of secrets that could potentially destroy many of the people holding high authority positions in our government. Pavone also writes in short chapters about each individual involved with this situation, and how they are trying to stop or encourage the publication of this novel.

Now for the opinions.
Books can be dangerous and used as weapons, don't doubt the power of a good book.

The cover is beautiful, very Sherlock-esque and it feels nice. I like the colors and the simplicity. There lettering doesn't distract the eye, and adds a seriousness to be expected within the pages.

This book is fast paced once you get into it, and I believe I particularly enjoyed it because of how many people were involved in the danger surrounding the manuscript. I think that this novel may be difficult for some because of that reason, especially if they aren't used to confusing plots. If you watch shows like Game of Thrones, or Criminal Minds it will be fairly easy to follow in that sense.

I also enjoyed the challenge that came along with paying attention to details, with me being fresh out of school I pick up on these sneaky bits and get all happy inside. Chris Pavone did a marvelous job, and I will surely pick up another one of his novels in the future.
Overall: 4 out of 5 stars!

Keep reading, you must.

Supernatural Novels

Thanks to my public library, I was able to pick up 3 different Supernatural books that have been sitting in my amazon wish list for a while. They were MARVELOUS!! So happy that I got a chance to read them, and I thought I might as well share these beauties with you all.

Ahhh Bobby, oh how I love you. Bobby singer is one of my favorite characters on the televison series because he's honest with the boys and treats them like his own children. David Reed (who is a writer on the show) has found a way to write in Bobby's voice throughout this novel. He has the same mannerisms as the character played by Jim Beaver. This was the best, in my opinion, of the 3. We get not only a journal on hunting tips, but an actual hunt within the pages. Bobby is losing his memory after an encounter with an unknown creature, and decides to write as much as he can remember for the boys to pick up where he left off. At the end we even get a little Dean action as he attempts to write an ending. This book is full of little Winchester feels:)

John Winchester's journal was the next book on my list, and I'm sad to say that this one fell short of my expectations :( It was a good read, and great to read about the boy's childhood (or lack of). But it had some wrong information that threw me off a little. It also had more of a diary feel to it that the journal that they use on the show. This one was more about the boys than about the monsters. Honestly, if this was the journal the boys found, they'd be screwed. If you look past those things, it isn't a bad edition to a supernatural collection.

Nathan Brown knows his stuff! I recommend this to EVERYONE. Both fans and non-fans alike. Being a history/mythology buff, this novel satisfies all of my needs. It goes behind the symbols and creature origins. I really can't describe how perfect this novel is. It's so informational and cool to see where the writers got the inspiration for everything that goes into the show.

I'm still working my way through the Supernatural Anime series (YESSSSSS) and I'll tell you all about that when I finish. So many things to review for you and I've fallen into the beautiful pages of graphic novels:)))) *swoon*
