New year. New me.

This year (so far) I have been able to stick to four out of five of my New Years Revolutions: Eating healthy, Exercising, Spending more time with my sister, and not Procrastinating. The fifth one is to stop fighting with my sister...working on it.

I have a fantastic lunch planned for tomorrow! I'll put up pictures tomorrow :) The whole eating healthy thing has been something that I've been wanting to do but I never had the confidence to do it, or the motivation. Truth is...I love food. But I'm finding so many amazing recipes and alternatives on Pinterest. If you don't have a Pinterest, I suggest that you join, it's completely worth it. Enough advertising...

Exercising. Being totally honest. I have fun afterwards and it feels rewarding, but during the workout... not so much. I haven't been running. HA! Soon enough I may start. I've been doing arm excercises and other workouts on seventeen magazine's website.

Spending time with my sister. We have been spending all kinds of time together. We actually started watching a bunch of shows on Netflix...guilty pleasure. It's so good!!!! Anyways we've been doing the workouts together. We're doing all kinds of things and it is so much fun :) I love her!

I'll update you on photos and all of that hallabelughia. Got more beautiful sunrise photos:)

Favorite tweets (past two days)

Well I wasn't on twitter much this week, which could be a good thing, but that means that I didn't save any tweets for the entire week for my favorites. So I got on there yesterday and today and picked my Top Five for those days. Here they are:

Are you ready to rock?!?!

Let's get crazy! It's finally time for me to start fundraising. Let's be honest, when you're in youth group, anytime is a good time to fund raise. We have camp coming up soon, so I need all the help that I can get. I would love to be able to raise all of the money that I need to pay for camp.

Well my youth pastors came up with a genius fundraising idea: a Rock-A-Ton! I will be sitting in a rocking chair "rocking it out" for 12 hours straight. We get a 5 minute break every hour (to use the bathroom, stretch, and all of that normal stuff). I'm super psyched!

Right now I am in the process of collecting sponsors. A sponsor is someone that offers to pay a certain amount per hour or a maximum amount of money for the entire 12 hours. Example: someone could offer to give me $1 an hour or offer to give me $10 dollars for me rocking.

I believe that I am going to video document throughout the night to share some highlights with all of you lovely people, and my Facebook friends.

I'm also offering to dress up in different costumes each hour if people are willing to donate a few extra dollars. They get to choose what I will wear.

All of the money raised will go into my student account to pay for camp, and other youth activities.

I'm super excited to participate in this fundraiser. Praying that all goes well. Who knows? This ought to be interesting...

Pantry Quesadillas

Tonight we finally ran out of leftovers and had to come up with whatever we could for dinner tonight. We had to "fend for ourselves" so to speak. I decided instead of reaching for the oh-so convenient Ramen noodles, that I would make Pantry Quesadillas. This is an invention of my own, and it tasted pretty good for a make-shift meal.

Weather Wonderland

The weather in Ohio is splendid. Cheers to the weather. It's never the same. Monday, it was bright, beautiful, and a balmy 46 degrees (Fahrenheit). Which is warm compared to last week when we got two days off of school because it was 27 degrees, and I had to wear a warm jacket. The snow had melted from the previous snow fall. It's snowing right now, but it's not sticking (praise the Lord).

I wrote this post, not to bore you with chat about the weather, but to tell you another odd obsession that I have (involving weather). I'm in awe of rainbows! Completely and continuously overjoyed. When I see a rainbow I start clapping my hands, and smile from ear to ear. Then I stand there and watch it until it fades away. I also like to try to capture the rainbow in photographs.

Why am I obsessed? Partly because of the science, partly the colours, but mostly because of God's promise. Genesis 9:13 " I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth". It reminds me that God is so real, and that what He says is true. How could such beauty be without a creator? I am in awe of Him and all of His marvelous works.

Today was odd...

Well, I didn't go to school today. Most kids my age would say "YAY" if they got the day off, but I've already missed too many days, so I'm tired of missing school. The reason why I missed school today was because I had a dentist appointment that ended up lasting longer that we expected...

At the dentist office they have TV's in each room, so that patients can "watch TV" while they are getting worked on. The reason why I say "watch TV" is that you can't focus on a screen while they are working in your mouth. It's almost as bad as when they ask you questions why they have their hand in your mouth flossing your teeth. Why, oh why do they do that?!?! You obviously won't be able to give a clear answer. Anyways, there was this show called " the Bubble Guppies" on while I saw waiting for the dentist, and the episode was about the "Lord of the Rings". It reminded me of the Veggie Tales version :)

If they ever ask you what flavor of paste you want on your teeth (for cleaning), I would suggest mint chocolate chip. It tasted like they were rubbing thin mints across my teeth. I am a girl that enjoys thin mints...A LOT!!! After my dentist appointment I ate a grilled stuffed nacho from Taco Bell. My day was good until that point. I believe that I got a piece of chip lodged in my gums in the back of my mouth :( My gums are currently swollen back there, and I may have to go back to the dentist tomorrow :((

Well after that plot twist of the day, my mother and I went to Goodwill (A store where all the items have been donated). I found cool polka dotted speakers for my ipod for $2, a bobble for $4 ( a filtering water bottle), a USB fan that plugs into an adapter or the computer) for $1.99, and a few pairs of boy's gym shorts. It was a thrifty day. The picture below is of a sticker that was on the pole in the parking lot. It reminded me of the Doctor Who episode "The Empty Child" (Geeking out again).
To finish off this odd day, the moon was shining so bright and it looked like it had a face. Am I the only one that thinks that the moon looks as though it has a face? Well I tried to snap a picture of the dazzling moon, but it turned out fuzzy. I'll share it with you anyways:
I hope that you had a wonderful day. Loads more to tell you tomorrow :)

Bucket List- Hair

Here are a couple pictures from when I dyed my hair a crazy color (74.). I decided to do this at Vacation Bible School, two summers ago. My friend Angelina had the hair kit at her house and brought it to church to dye a strip of my hair during our free time :) I really liked the color, until it turned a nasty copper orange color after a few weeks.
...Yes I am wearing a Heafty trash bag as a cape...That's all we had :)

Geeking out

Sorry about all of the picture posts today, but I have so many things to share with you. I crossed my ankles and the shadow that my feet cast on the ground (I thought) looked like the Penguin from Batman, or Alfred Hitchcock's silhouette :

What a coinkidink?!?!

Saw these at two different cemeteries, and thought "This fandom is following me" (I'm a sherlockian):

Anthem Lights

I'm sure we all have our favorite bands, and enjoy going to concerts. I am a regular concert attendee. I try to go to a few throughout the year. My favorite christian band is called "Anthem Lights". It's a group of highly talented men (Whose names are Alan, Chad, Caleb, and Joey) who share the love of God through music. My good friend Jaime introduced them to me a few years ago. I highly recommend checking out their tunes. Suggestions: "Lifeline" or "Circles". They also do amazing covers of popular songs, like One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful/One Thing/Gotta Be You" and a Justin Timberlake mash-up. I wanted to post photos from the first and second time I saw them live. Here they are:
                                                        Joey (above), Chad (below)
                                                                     Caleb (below)

After the concert was over they had an autograph line, we were the last in line. Once we got up to the front I asked Chad if I could get a picture (because we were last, and they weren't taking pictures with anyone else because of the time). He said yes, so we got this picture really quick as the security guards were kicking us out :)
After we were kicked out of the room where the concert was (We were at a convention center), we went to get a group picture with the Reach sign. All of the sudden Caleb and Donald tried to photobomb us! Then they jumped in our group picture (Donald is the one in front of the "E" and Caleb is the head inside of the "R").
This is the second time that I saw them in concert. Alan (One of the guys in the band) wasn't there the second time either (Last time Donald filled in for him, this time they just went on the three of them. It was still amazing).

And these lovely ladies in the photo below are Fallon (Left,Chad's wife) and Kelsey (Right, Caleb's Fiance, and part of a fabulous christian girls group "1 Girl Nation"). They both were so nice and fun to talk to. I told Kelsey that she looked like Ariel (Little Mermaid). She started giggling, saying "Thank you", and told Caleb what I said. He replied "You just made her whole day". It was an amazing day!

This beautiful morning

The sunrise was BREATHTAKING!!!! I took some photos (The only editing I did was to clarify them. The colors didn't need any editing). God is such a beautiful painter. Hope that these make you happy :)

Morning!

I will be leaving for school before too long, but I just wanted to tell you that this morning My mother and I experienced one of the most beautiful sunrises! I took a few pictures, and I'll post them later today. I ate two slices of toast with Texas Roadhouse butter on them :) mmmmmm. Just shared that with you because I NEVER eat breakfast, and I'm trying to get in the habit of doing so. I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

My Bucket List

Yes it may seem a bit silly for a seventeen year old to have already started writing a bucket list. The truth behind why I started writing one now is because I'll have that much more time (Hopefully) to check off the things on my list. Doesn't sound that silly anymore now does it?

I have to give credit for the idea of posting this on my blog to my dear friend charity. She is an amazing girl that I met at school my sophomore year. She was just telling me the other day in chemistry class that she has a blog and that she blogs about her bucket list. I thought this was a fantastic idea, and in NO MEANS am I trying to steal that from her. Eventually I'll put the link to her blog up, but I can't find it right now.

If you don't know what a bucket list is, here is my definition: A list of adventures both big, and little, that you would like to take before you pass away. This could be anything from going to another country, to trying ice cream for the first time. Well...Here it is

I have always wanted to blog, so I have, and I failed miserably. Mostly because I never had a direction for my blog. It was random and spontaneous, but not in a good way. So, I've decided to start it over. A fresh new blog. Whether or not I get very many views doesn't concern me. I just want to share my thoughts and my journey on here for those that would like to take a peek into an average, teenage, christian girls' life.

So, who am I? What will this blog be about? What does the title mean? Answering those questions in absolutely no order: "The journey of a 31 Girl" is about my walk with God and all of the crazy things that he allows me to do. This life that he has blessed me with so far has been a blast, and I want to share it with you. I will have all kinds of random things on this blog, and I hope it makes your day!

Who am I? Well, I'm currently 17 years old. I have a sister, and I live with my parents :) I'm a junior in high school, and I haven't ever dated anyone (more on that later). I love to laugh, and I spend most of my days at my church. I'm an artist. I love to learn new things, and I am inspired by almost anything.

I hope you enjoy my odd adventures :)
